Vienna Teng – In the 99
在友人的知乎个人资料页上发现了这首歌的几行歌词，读起来觉得颇有味道，便找来了整首曲子听了下，发现也非常带感。于是便决定试着翻译一下这首歌的歌词。
根据 POPMatters 的评论文章所述，这首曲子是以占领（华尔街）运动为背景，以一位心怀同情的高级银行家的内心独白为视角来表达的。“享受代码资本的恩惠/肩并肩我们抱头痛哭”一句被单独拎出，作为亮点来看待。这首歌在发布的 CD 专辑中附带了一份长达 14 项的脚注，似乎是作为创作的参考而提供的，其中包括沃伦·巴菲特的表达同情的文章、介绍社会保障基金的减少的图表，等等。
另外值得一提的是，这首歌收录的专辑《Aims》的封面是 2000~2010 年底特律的人口变化情况，红色代表居民净损失，蓝色代表人口流入。歌手在接受采访时说她从这幅地图的红色中仿佛能够看见一幕熟悉的悲剧，还有其它的一些情感。正因此她将这幅颇为喜爱的地图当作了这张专辑的封面。有关这些地图的更多信息可以在 Wired 的这篇文章上了解。
就我个人而言，这篇歌词里引人沉醉的也的确就是开头在反复吟咏的自我叩问之后的四句。虽然让我提出来我就会提“一行行读着个中苦楚”“肩并肩我们抱头痛哭”这两句，可它们也不连续不是……改完之后就变成了对文字的倾诉，倒也符合我的风格。
翻译的效果并不算太好，可能还得留待日后修改。
